Biostimulator Fillers
Biostimulator fillers are the new generation of fillers that are taking the market by storm and they are available in Marbella!
Finally, we can restore aging in a more natural way than traditional fillers by adding volume and tightening the skin at the same time.
What are biostimulator fillers?
Biostimulator fillers are non-hyaluronic acid-based fillers that have a double-acting mechanism. They provide both immediate volume, like regular fillers, as well as stimulating the skin’s collagen and elastin to rejuvenate and tighten wrinkles and sagging skin.
By using biostimulator fillers, you avoid overfilling areas to lift the skin, a problem we often see with some celebrities, such as overfilled cheeks and nasolabial folds above all.
With biostimulator filler, you add a smaller amount of filler, which then works for up to 9 months after treatment by tightening the skin. The result is therefore progressively better and better.
What are the different biostimulator fillers called?
Well-known brands are named
- Radiesse
- Sculptra
- Ellansé
Which biofiller brand do you use at your clinic in Marbella?
We use Ellansé, which is among the longest-lasting fillers and also a better option for the face than ex Sculptra.
We do use a Sculptra variant – Lanluma- for treating the body.

How long do the results last after Ellanse
The result after Ellansé lasts for 24 months and is therefore often also called long-acting or semi-permanent fillers.
Where on the face can be treated with biostimulator fillers /Ellansé?
- Cheek bone
- Nasolabial folds
- Marionette lines
- The jaw line
Areas to avoid being treated are the mouth, under the eyes, and forehead, where the skin is too thin for these types of fillers.
Can biostimulator fillers be removed with hyalase?
No,biostimulator fillers are not broken down with hyalase as fillers based on hyaluronic acid. It is therefore extremely important that you go to a therapist with extensive experience. What is the difference between Profhilo and biostimulator fillers?
Profhilo does not give volume like these types of fillers do but boosts it with moisture.
Both Profhilo and Biostimulator fillers (Elansé) stimulate collagen formation, but when fillers remain under the skin for a longer time, there is stronger collagen stimulation from these types of fillers.
Another difference is that profhilo is applied to the entire face (minus the forehead), while fillers are applied to a specific area.
Therefore, choose Profhilo if you want a general refreshing of the skin, especially if you have dry and thin skin.
Choose Ellanse if you primarily want volume or want to improve a certain part of the face.
How do I know if I should choose regular fillers or biostimulator fillers?
If you are under 35, then regular fillers are better for you. Over 35–40 years of age can get a good effect from biostimulator fillers, especially if the skin has become loose. Book a consultation with us in Marbella, and we will help you choose the right treatment.
What are the risks with biostimulator fillers?
Bruising, swelling, and tenderness may occur, just like with regular fillers.
The dangerous thing about fillers is that they always end up in vessels. Then you can get necrosis or tissue death, and this applies to both regular fillers and biostimulator fillers.
The difference here is that you can dissolve regular filler quickly if that were to happen, which you can’t with these types of fillers.
To reduce the risk of necrosis, we always use a cannula in this type of treatment.
A cannula is a blunt needle, unless it breaks vessels if they get in the way, and therefore does not spray inside the vessel but slides past and sprays around.
However, it is very important to choose a therapist with extensive experience in beauty treatments.
